Advanced two-factor authentication feature makes it very easy for the users to protect their information. Photos is version 6.0 and FaceTime is version 5.0 GarageBand, which I have never used, was updated on 25Jul13 but now has a slash through it.Latest locking features and customizes various aspects and two-factor authentication. Clearly this has not happened with iMovie.Īgain following comments in your response I opened Launchpad where I note iMove 9 is listed, with a slash, but not iMovie 10. Going to System Preferences>Software update>Advanced> I have ticked all the boxes for check for updates, download updates, install MacOS updates, etc. Likewise on the Update page there is neither a 'View Information' button nor a 'Redeem Gift Card' button as shown on the top right as appears on your screenshot. As you note I have apps such as Garage band and Photos that have never been updated by me so I am surprised to find the Update page devoid of content. When I log on to the the App store and register and go to the update page, the page is empty. Again, a careful check of dates indicates that I took possession of the MacAir in December 2011.I am surprised it was 10 years ago! Hence it did come with iMovie 9 which updated in June 2019 to version 10. However, as I have noted elsewhere in this email chain, the App has a slash through it indicating the program is no longer functional. As I noted in my reply to Richard, and following your email, I undertook took a more careful search and indeed I have iMovie 10 on my computer (now restored from the Bin) and that was updated to 10.1.12 on 12Jun19. Click on the Contact Support item in the upper right hand corner of this forum's screen and navigate to a place where you can enter your phone number. Unlike this forum the techs at Apple Support can remotely access your computer. I suggest that you contact Apple Support and talk to one of the techs there. Since you are running Big Sur you should be able to obtain the current version of iMovie 10 with the Apple I.D. I have never had occasion to change my Apple I.D. that you used when you initially acquired the app. In order to update or upgrade any app you must use the same Apple I.D. You would be dragging iMovie 10 to the bin, not iMovie 9. The update method that I mentioned only works if you have a version of iMovie 10 on your computer, or ever had iMovie 10 on your computer at one time but perhaps deleted it. iMovie 9 cannot be updated or upgraded to iMovie 10 because, as you mentioned, it has been discontinued. Usually when I go there I am already signed in, but sometimes I get a pop up window to type in my I.D. I sign into the app store with my Apple I.D. This is what you should see in the App Store when you sign into your account, I have copied something from the internet. If after doing "View hidden apps:" do you now see iMovie listed with the words "Install" or " open " against it ? In the window that appears, click Manage, then click Unhide to the right of the app you want to show. View hidden apps: Click View Information.Hide a purchased app: Hold the pointer over an app, click the Show More button , then choose Hide Purchase. In the App Store on your Mac, click your name in the bottom-left corner or click Sign In if you’re not already. It is possible that your apps may be hidden from display, if so try this You should see at least some apps, for example Garage Band, Photos, as these would have been pre-installed as well. When you signed into the App Store ( bottom left of side bar ) did you see any apps displayed at all ? Have you searched your Mac for iMovie 10 to see if it is "hiding" somewhere. Is it possible that iMovie version 10 has been deleted from your Mac? When you purchased your Mac in 2015 it would have been pre-installed with iMovie version 10. iMovie version 9.0.9 would not have been installed on your Mac at the time of purchase. I am assuming that your version of iMovie 9.0.9 was either migrated over from an older Mac or was installed from an iLife 11 disc.
